Position SummaryThe Plant Manager plays a pivotal role in managing all operational facets of our manufacturing facility. This position demands a strategic leader equipped with robust operational, technical, and personnel management capabilities. The Plant Manager will guarantee the effective, economical, and high-caliber production of our offerings, nurturing a culture centered on continuous enhancement, safety, and teamwork. The primary focus of this role is to achieve outcomes that align with the broader objectives of the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production timelines are adhered to while upholding quality standards.
- Champion operational excellence by applying lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
- Track essential performance metrics and take corrective measures as necessary to meet operational goals.
- Ensure sufficient personnel and equipment capacity to accommodate projected production needs and new product initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a diverse team of professionals across production, materials, quality, maintenance, and engineering, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages accountability and growth.
- Establish a cohesive team atmosphere that embodies the company culture and strives for ongoing improvement.
- Enhance and maintain the plant's quality management system, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Encourage a safety-oriented culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing programs to minimize workplace risks.
- Develop and oversee the plant's budget, managing expenses and optimizing resource allocation while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Collaborate closely with customer service and sales teams to meet client expectations, ensuring plant operations align with customer demands.
- Make informed decisions focused on practical, timely solutions, employing a leadership style that is both assertive and motivating, while building rapport with team members.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proficient in ERP and MES systems.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational enhancements and meeting production targets.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
- Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is advantageous.
This position is based in a manufacturing facility and may require occasional travel to other company locations.
