Position Overview:

We are seeking a Child Abuse Pediatrician to become a vital part of the Saint Peter's Healthcare System at our dedicated Child Protection Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outpatient, inpatient, and emergency consultations for cases of suspected abuse and neglect.
  • Participate in minimal after-hours phone call duties.
  • Receive robust support from leadership and administrative teams.
  • Engage in court-related responsibilities, including in-person testimonies, depositions, and hearings.
  • Deliver patient and family-centered medical evaluations and care with adequate time and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree with completion of a recognized fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
  • Active MD or DO license in New Jersey.
  • Board Certification in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
  • Eligibility for liability insurance through the healthcare system.
  • Current CDS and DEA licenses.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Demonstrated compassion and commitment to working with children and families.

The Child Protection Center is home to a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including certified child abuse pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, and social workers, dedicated to supporting children and families in overcoming the physical and emotional challenges associated with abuse and neglect.

As a designated child protection center, we provide essential crisis intervention, comprehensive assessments, and connections to community resources for multiple counties.
