Job Title: Registered Nurse - Wound and Ostomy Care

UW Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients with complex wounds and ostomy needs.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, as well as specialized knowledge and skills in wound and ostomy care. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote healing, prevent complications, and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' wound and ostomy needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions between settings.
  • Utilize advanced wound treatments, such as advanced tissue products, compression wraps, and vacuum-assisted wound closure, to promote healing and prevent complications.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families, promoting independence and self-care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to wound and ostomy care.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
  • 6 months of relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in wound and ostomy care, or willingness to learn and develop skills in this area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs.
