About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Activity Therapist to join our multidisciplinary treatment team at Pembroke Hospital. As an Activity Therapist, you will provide expressive arts therapy, psychoeducational groups, and recreational activities on our inpatient psychiatric units.

Responsibilities
  • Perform initial activity therapy assessments to develop appropriate treatment goals
  • Facilitate groups on the inpatient psychiatric units
  • Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings
  • Provide education to Mental Health Associates through both formal and informal means to ensure effective and appropriate therapeutic group facilitation
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Qualifications

We require a Master's Degree in a related field or a Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy or expressive therapy (Art, Music, or Dance/Movement) with a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS), Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), or other Certified Expressive Therapist modality.
