Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is on the lookout for Deployment and Manufacturing Engineers. This role is integral to our operations and supports a critical program.
Key Responsibilities:
Join the Deployment & Manufacturing Engineering team and contribute to the engineering solutions necessary for the deployment and delivery of advanced systems to our clients. This role demands a proactive self-starter with expertise in the fabrication, assembly, system integration, deployment, and testing of engineering products. The selected candidate will engage in various engineering tasks that are essential for the deployment of pivotal systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing processes by analyzing requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing production and deployment methodologies and equipment.
- Collaborating with Design Engineering to ensure practical manufacturing and fabrication solutions.
- Partnering with suppliers to formulate manufacturing plans that facilitate successful assessments.
- Researching and assessing commercially available tools and equipment to enhance deployment efforts.
- Investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.
- Troubleshooting existing processes to enhance safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Creating and maintaining detailed work and installation instructions for assigned products and processes.
- Training operators on both new and existing processes.
- Establishing and maintaining a project plan and schedule aligned with the overall program timeline.
- Providing on-site engineering support during installations.
- Offering advanced technological insights and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to address technical inquiries and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Implementing Lean practices to continuously identify improvement opportunities.

This position typically follows a 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to enjoy every other Friday off. Relocation assistance may also be available.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 2 years of applicable experience; or a Master's Degree with no experience. Alternatively, 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Capability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Experience with Design Reviews, Process Control Documentation, Work Instructions, and Bills of Materials.
- Familiarity with Mechanical/Electrical Drawings.
- Experience with Siemens NX/CPLM or similar tools and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related fields.
- Experience in deploying engineering solutions in the field.
- Prior involvement in production for military programs.
- Experience with Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) projects.
- Familiarity with Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).
- Understanding of Manufacturing Readiness Assessments and establishing Manufacturing Readiness Levels per customer requirements.
- Experience in developing and designing tools for fieldwork and installations.
- Knowledge of tooling, work instructions, and visual aids.
