Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's missions to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health.

The selected candidate will lead the future vision and expansion of the strong foundation of neonatal follow-up clinics at UTHealth Houston. They will participate in clinical research conducted in the Division of Neonatology aligned with their research interests. The candidate will also provide direct patient care as part of a skilled team of neonatology faculty and neonatal nurse practitioners in the Level IV neonatal intensive care unit at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in program development, research and scholarly achievement, and recognition as a leader and innovator in neonatal care and follow-up. They will be responsible for supervising and educating medical students, residents, and fellows in the care of NICU patients. The candidate will also develop and sustain an environment in the patient care units that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care.

The selected candidate will be required to have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Board certification/eligibility in neonatal perinatal medicine is also required.

The position will report to the Chief, Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in and/or chair committees, work groups, and meetings as appropriate.
