Role Summary:
A Physical Therapist (PT) plays a crucial role in helping patients regain function, enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and prevent or minimize long-term physical disabilities resulting from injuries or illnesses. The PT collaborates with patients to create tailored rehabilitation plans aimed at improving their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Evaluation:
    • Perform comprehensive physical assessments to determine the patient's condition.
    • Examine medical histories and any relevant documentation from healthcare providers.
  2. Individualized Treatment Planning:
    • Formulate customized treatment strategies based on patient assessments and diagnoses.
    • Establish realistic recovery goals and timelines for patients.
  3. Therapeutic Techniques:
    • Implement exercises, stretching routines, manual therapy, and equipment usage to alleviate pain and enhance mobility.
    • Provide education on exercises, techniques, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery and prevent future injuries.
  4. Patient and Family Education:
    • Inform patients and their families about the recovery process and home care strategies.
    • Encourage adherence to treatment plans and foster a positive outlook on recovery.
  5. Monitoring Progress:
    • Continuously assess and document patient progress.
    • Modify treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal results.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Engage with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions.
  7. Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Maintain precise patient records, including detailed treatment notes and progress reports.
    • Adhere to relevant regulations and policies regarding patient care and documentation.
  8. Professional Development:
    • Stay informed about the latest advancements in physical therapy.
    • Engage in ongoing education and attend relevant workshops or conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid state license to practice physical therapy, along with a Driver's License and CPR Certification.
  • Experience: Previous clinical experience through internships or prior employment is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
    • Empathy and patience in patient interactions.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Physical endurance to assist patients and demonstrate therapeutic exercises.

Work Environment:

  • Settings: Home Care
  • Hours: Typically full-time, part-time, or contract, with some evening or weekend availability based on patient needs.

Compensation:

  • Up to $75.00 per hour
