Job Summary

The Lake Erie College Of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Faculty member to join our team in the School of Podiatric Medicine. As a Clinical Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the podiatric clinical skills courses, as well as providing lecture presentations to first and second-year podiatric medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and train students in the Podiatry curriculum
  • Assist in Simulation Lab supervision
  • Assist in the History and Physical courses
  • Interview prospective student candidates for the School of Podiatric Medicine
  • Serve on committees as assigned and serve as advisor to assigned students and at least one club
  • Participate in research and scholarly activity
  • Prepare educational tools, including A/V presentations, demonstration models, lectures, syllabi, and lesson plans
  • Prepare laboratory demonstrations, lectures, small group discussions, and coordinate these educational tools with other faculty members
  • Prepare evaluation tools to assess student competence in podiatric core competencies and identify students in need of remediation
  • Attend team meetings approved by the School of Podiatric Medicine to advance the profession
  • Contribute to student success, including advising and student outcomes
  • Contribute to the mission of LECOM, embodying the essence of Podiatric Medicine
  • Participate in scholarly activity to enrich and broaden the student learning experience
  • Commit to being a representative of LECOM, actively involved in the community, including fundraising and participating in community events
  • Be available for work during assigned hours for student instruction and clinic development
  • Take direction and receive assignments from the Assistant/Associate Dean of Preclinical Education
  • Accept other duties assigned or needed for the Institution's needs
Requirements
  • D.P.M. degree required
  • Board certified in an area of study
  • Licensed or eligible for a current license to practice podiatric medicine
  • Teaching experience in academia with two to five years or more of clinical practice experience preferred
