Basic Science Faculty Member Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Basic Science Faculty Member to join our team at The Lake Erie College Of Osteopathic Medicine. As a key member of our faculty, you will contribute to the mission of the college through education, research, and service.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will serve as an educator in their area(s) of expertise to fulfill the curricular needs of the School of Podiatric Medicine at LECOM Erie. This includes teaching graduate/professional school level courses in biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and molecular genetics.

  • Develop and deliver high-quality educational content to students.
  • Contribute to the college's mission through research and service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as content expert in area of expertise.
  • Facilitate Problem Based Learning (PBL) sessions.
  • Develop examination questions for exams in area of expertise.
  • Participate in the interview process for prospective candidates for the School of Podiatric Medicine (SPM).
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to assigned students.
  • Contribute to the development of educational tools and resources.
  • Participate in faculty and professional development opportunities.
  • Embody the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices through institutional fundraising and community outreach.
Requirements
  • Doctorate level of achievement (Ph.D.) is required.
  • Teaching experience in academia with two to five (2-5) years' or more of basic science experience preferred.
  • Strong communications skills and computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
