Job Summary:

The International Institute of New England seeks a skilled Employment Specialist to join its team. This dynamic role will play a critical part in helping refugees and immigrants achieve employment outcomes and advance their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform client intake and assessment to identify employment goals and develop personalized plans.
  • Work with clients to develop early employment and long-term career plans, providing access to education, training, and credentialing resources as needed.
  • Facilitate job counseling, job coaching, and group job search workshops to support clients in securing employment.
  • Develop and maintain employer partnerships, outreach, and relationships to create job opportunities for clients.
  • Monitor the local and regional labor market, identifying job opportunities and educating employers about the needs and abilities of the client population.
  • Collaborate with other Institute programs and services to support internal referrals and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including case notes, quantitative data, and contract reports.
  • Attend regular meetings, training sessions, and staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to team efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of related experience in job development and employer engagement, with intern experience considered.
  • Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Creole, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, Ukrainian, Spanish, or French, is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent coaching skills, organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.

Work Environment:

The Employment Specialist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with occasional travel to IINE offices, client homes, and surrounding towns. The position requires occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling materials, as well as continuous sitting or standing at a desk for long periods.
