About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Life Specialist to join our team. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of patient care through participation, documentation, and communication with other members of the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all phases of assessment of the emotional, educational, and recreational needs of hospitalized patients and other healthcare experiences of children and families.
  • Promote effective coping through play, education, and self-expression activities.
  • Prepare children for hospitalization, clinic visits, surgeries, and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships within the hospital and community.
  • Orient/educate hospital staff to the psycho-social needs of children and their families.
  • Adhere to the Child Life Council Code of Ethics.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience as a Child Life Specialist required.
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis on human growth and development, education, psychology, or a related field of study preferred.
  • Previous experience working with hospitalized and healthy children preferred.
  • Certified Child Life Specialist required.
