About the Role

The Supervisor of Sterilization and Supply Chain Management plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of medical supplies and equipment in the Central Sterile Processing department. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities involved in the decontamination, storage, assembly, cleaning, and sterilization of medical supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the sterilization process, ensuring compliance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and check work in progress to ensure adherence to sterile processing standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Work closely with other departments and personnel to coordinate sterile processing activities and resolve instrument problems and supply needs.
  • Develop and implement processes that meet the needs of patients, physicians, and user departments within targeted productivity and budget parameters.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory, ordering supplies and equipment within authorized expense parameters.
  • Participate in the development of departmental policies and standards related to Sterile Processing.
  • Manage personnel functions, including hiring, performance appraisals, training, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in an allied health field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in sterile processing or a similar setting, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification.
