Position Title: Front Desk Associate
Reports To: Office Manager
Overview: The Front Desk Associate is responsible for welcoming patients, updating insurance details in the database, verifying and assessing health insurance benefits, clarifying payment policies, managing phone communications, and performing various administrative duties.
Note: A sign-on bonus and full benefits are available for full-time employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome, register, guide, and assist patients with their needs.
- Collect demographic and financial data and input it into the computer system.
- Confirm insurance eligibility and communicate relevant information regarding payment policies and billing processes.
- Identify and collect co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient financial obligations while maintaining and reconciling the cash drawer.
- Coordinate with primary care providers and insurance companies as requested by patients.
- Manage phone calls, take messages, and respond to voicemails.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Office Manager or Practice Administrator.
Availability: Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; some college education is preferred.
- Certification as a medical assistant.
- Capability to maintain organized systems to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Proficiency in performing phlebotomy and administering injections.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Outstanding customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
