Position Summary

In the role of Custodial Unit Director, you will oversee the cleanliness, sanitation, and security of designated facilities. Your responsibilities will include effectively coordinating the activities of janitorial staff and ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

You will be tasked with assigning duties, conducting inspections, and addressing any complaints regarding cleaning services. Additionally, you will ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that adequate janitorial supplies are available through regular inventory checks. Training, discipline, and personnel management will also be key components of your role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication across shifts to ensure task completion.
  • Train staff in cleaning techniques and equipment usage.
  • Distribute supplies and equipment to maintain service quality.
  • Conduct daily inspections to verify task completion.
  • Cross-train staff for various roles to enhance versatility.
  • Hold weekly meetings to review progress and upcoming projects.
  • Secure facilities after work completion.
  • Guide project execution to ensure timely and budget-compliant outcomes.
  • Report any budgetary concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred college degree.
  • One to two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or a service-oriented field.
  • Strong commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities in individual and group settings.
  • Capability to engage and motivate team members.
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial concepts.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Experience with heavy cleaning equipment.
