Aptiv is seeking a Lead Crimping Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The individual in this role will be an integral part of the production team, focusing on the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of crimping machinery.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Examine materials, products, or equipment to identify defects or operational issues.
  • Conduct initial piece set-up validation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment indicators to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Propose and implement strategies to enhance production methods, machinery performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Proficient in utilizing various company-related and external systems and databases.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling several responsibilities simultaneously.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Competent in computer usage.

While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee must be capable of working in various physical positions, including standing, sitting, bending, reaching, walking, and stretching. Regular communication through talking and listening is essential. Frequent use of hands for handling or feeling is required.

The employee must be able to engage in physical activities such as lifting or moving light objects up to ten (10) pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision. Exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals may occur.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The characteristics of the work environment described are typical of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role. The employee will typically work in an industrial manufacturing setting, which may involve proximity to moving machinery and/or vehicles.
