About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team at ChristianaCare. As an Endoscopy Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures and bronchoscopies, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and comfort.
  • Obtain biopsy and pathology specimens during procedures, and order additional testing as directed by anesthesiology.
  • Provide support to physicians and anesthesia during procedures, and respond to emergent situations/codes within the department.
  • Educate patients and families on the procedure, expectations about medications, disease process, and discharge instructions.
  • Monitor patients during the recovery phase post-anesthesia or moderate sedation, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergent cases.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of RN experience in critical care or perioperative services, or HVIS or ED.
  • A current Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Previous procedural and GI Lab experience is preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
