Job Summary

The Asset Protection Coordinator is a critical role that reports directly to the Market Asset Protection Manager. This position is responsible for maintaining and monitoring all asset protection, security, compliance, and safety-related functions within a facility. The primary objective is to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory, ensure compliance, and provide a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive training and development for all Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security-related functions.
  • Cascade Asset Protection-related directives and initiatives to store leadership and other Outfitters as required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with customers or Outfitters who may appear in need or exhibit suspicious behavior.
  • Identify root causes of shrink through analyzing cycle counts, trailer audits, known loss, and vendor compliance opportunities or other exception reporting.
  • Use data to review inventory adjustments, ensuring accountability and investigating potential discrepancies.
  • Encourage a strong commitment to asset protection programs with all Outfitters and vendors.
  • Drive education to ensure merchandise protection tools are removed and product is paid for at point of purchase locations.
  • Monitor and maintain physical security and merchandise protection standards within the store.
  • Conduct known loss investigations and exception report reviews.
  • Assist with investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents, workplace violence, and operational or nefarious loss.
  • Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify as warranted.
  • Conduct information gathering and integrity interviews when assigned or authorized.
  • Assist in investigating irregularities related to Firearms protocols.
  • Ensure all asset protection and security-related systems are maintained and functioning properly.
  • Assist Store leadership in promoting safety programs to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred Degree: Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Certificate(s) or License(s): As required by local jurisdiction
  • Years of experience: Previous experience in security, asset protection, and safety preferred or Retail inventory background
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience conducting criminal or internal investigations
  • Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
  • Experience conducting quality reviews/audits
  • Current AHA First Aid/CPR/AED certification is preferred
Travel Requirements
  • Travel is not an essential function of the job, if requested would be less than 10%
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly performs computer work, walks, stands, and lifts up to 50lbs.
  • Occasionally sits.

  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments.
  • Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired results.
