Job Title: Executive Chef Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As an Executive Chef Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods, coordinating activities of cooks and other food-service associates, and assuming responsibility for the kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, cleaning workstations thoroughly before leaving the area and keeping display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
  • Customer Service: Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information directly to the supervisor.
  • Inventory Management: Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracking product production, consumption, and waste, and informing the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous culinary supervision experience is required.
  • Skills: Excellent cooking and food preparation skills, strong leadership and supervision skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent customer service skills.
