We're seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our New Construction team in Portland, OR. As an estimator, you will be responsible for estimating work with sales, engineering, and operations teams. Your key responsibilities will include:

Estimation Expertise
  • Develop project cost estimates based on schematic and/or detailed designs.
  • Conduct complete ductwork takeoffs using Autobid Sheet metal.
  • Manage all aspects of the Autobid Sheet Metal software, including takeoff applications and material/labor databases.
  • Count dry-side equipment and specialties, and enter data into estimates.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor quotes.
  • Identify job-specific clarifications and exclusions for proposal letters.
  • Develop initial budgets and estimates without engineering drawings or specifications.
  • Maintain current and historical construction cost and bid result databases.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Assist in developing requests for proposals for subcontractors and vendors.
  • Discuss and meet with subcontractors, vendors, architects, customers, and management.
  • Evaluate and communicate project risk.
  • Secure prospective business consistent with the company's strategy.
About You
  • You must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of sheet metal estimating.
  • You should be capable of developing estimates based on fully-designed project documents as well as conceptual and/or schematic designs.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Four years of experience in mechanical estimating for projects $5 million dollars and larger is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Advanced experience with excel is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autobid Sheetmetal estimating software and database management is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and project constructability is required.
