About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Energy division, specializing in substation design and electrical power systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems and their layout for various electrical HV transmission and MV distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical design deliverables, including power distribution schematics, power system studies, protection and control design, SCADA, communication, and physical layout design.
  • Interface and develop partnerships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Work on complex projects with a team of highly collaborative and supportive engineers.
  • Design electrical power systems and their layout for various electrical HV transmission and MV distribution projects.
  • Participate in the development of electrical systems design, including one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams, SCADA and communication design, station physical layouts, and elevations for electrical equipment.
  • Perform power system study and analysis, including load flow, short circuit, grounding, protection coordination, arc flash, and harmonic analysis.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials and collect data in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Contribute to the design of plans and specifications, evaluate project quantities and costs, and verify conformity of drawings and data sheets.
  • Perform or validate calculations for equipment sizing, selection of power cable gauges, cable and conduit plans, and details.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a consulting engineering firm, a utility, or an electrical equipment manufacturer.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Good knowledge of the US energy market.
  • Familiarity with current codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment in a medium- and high-voltage environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driving license and a car for travel.
  • Ability to work under pressure, on several projects simultaneously.
  • Organizational skills, curiosity, ingenuity, attention to detail, and autonomy.
