Machinist Specialist

The Machinist II role is a critical position that requires extensive knowledge and expertise in machining operations. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for completing complex tasks with minimal supervision, defining methods and procedures, and recognized as a specialist in a specific area of expertise.

• Set up and execute machining operations to manufacture parts with close tolerances and critical finishes.
• Operate CNC-based and conventional machinery, lathes, mills, and grinding machines.
• Monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are required and adjust as necessary.
• Verify, inspect, and measure parts to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications.
• Perform secondary work such as deburring and prepares for the next job while machine is running.
• Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning machines and work area.

• Machinist Certification preferred or 6 years of related experience.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, etc.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of the application of geometric tolerance symbols.
• Solid ability to read and follow instructions including Engineering and CAD drawings.
• Complex math required i.e. Trigonometry.
