Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

The Proteomics Group at Sloan Kettering Institute is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Technician to support projects across various programs at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing proteomic experiments, maintaining and operating mass spectrometers and HPLC systems, and mentoring junior lab members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform custom proteomic, phosphoproteomic, and targeted proteomic experiments
  • Develop, optimize, and validate new LC/MS methods
  • Use, maintain, and troubleshoot high-resolution mass spectrometers and nano LC instruments
  • Conceptualize, design, and conduct proteomic experiments, including experimental design and basic data collection
  • Apply open-source and vendor-developed software for data analysis
  • Ensure high-quality research work and adherence to regulatory, QC, and compliance guidelines
  • Maintain laboratory records and safety policies
  • Communicate with vendors and train junior lab members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a biological, chemistry, or science-related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, including proteome profiling, PTM, protein-protein interaction, chemoproteomics, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range: $30.77-$47.75
  • Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm schedule
  • Location: 417 E. 68th Street
