Job Summary

CHI Health St. Mary's is seeking an Advanced LPN to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care duties following established clinic workflows, including admission interviews, accurate documentation, and timely patient flow.
  • Accompany physicians into exam rooms or connect remotely by audio for patient visits, documenting all aspects of care in the electronic medical record.
  • Work directly with physicians to ensure patient visits are appropriately documented.
  • Triage patient care to ensure priority is provided to patients in emergency situations.
  • Prepare rooms for daily patient care, restock instruments, clean and reset rooms between patients, and order medications and supplies.
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, treatments, procedures, and testing as directed.
  • Perform phlebotomy lab procedures and communicate results to patients as ordered by providers.
  • Notify patients of lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Ensure appropriate consent is obtained prior to procedures.
  • Provide patient and family education on healthcare management, disease processes, treatments, tests, medications, and follow-up under direct supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Maintain and update patient education materials and consent forms.
  • Ensure patients are prepared for care encounters, prepare and obtain patient medical records, and calculate visit estimates for prompt payment.
  • Collect visit payments and explain visit estimates, prompt pay discounts, and payment plans as needed.
  • Triage patient telephone calls using knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice.
Qualifications
  • Current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse License from the state licensing board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS).
  • Preferred: 1 year related experience in a clinic, specialty clinic, or acute hospital setting.
