The Clinical Pharmacist will play a crucial role in interpreting and managing physician's prescriptions, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and leading a team of Pharmacy Technicians and fellow pharmacists.
This position operates in a dynamic environment focused on the compounding of solid oral dosage forms and processing orders for both local and remote clients.
The successful candidate will be a proactive leader who embraces technology and machinery while also mentoring and guiding a team of technicians. Previous experience in compounding is highly valued.
Our work schedules are designed to ensure coverage during evenings from Monday to Friday, with daytime hours on Saturdays. Sundays are designated as a day off. While schedules may evolve as our company grows, we prioritize a healthy work-life balance and have successfully attracted pharmacists seeking a shift from traditional retail settings.
We offer a paid lunch hour, consistent working hours, and a supportive work environment, alongside competitive compensation and comprehensive medical benefits. We encourage pharmacists to pursue additional state licenses and will cover the costs associated with examinations and licensing.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the compounding activities performed by Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
- Examine prescriptions from authorized healthcare providers.
- Manage compounding processes and the dispensing of medications for patient care.
- Collaborate with team members to manage chemical inventory and evaluate the identity, purity, and strength of ingredients.
- Provide consultation to patients and customers regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage, primarily through virtual channels.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the compounding area, equipment, and tools.
- Report any deviations or out-of-specification observations to the Quality Control/Compliance Officer.
- Train pharmacy personnel on compounding techniques and procedures.
- Conduct or supervise environmental monitoring, including temperature recordings and sample checks.
- Pursue licensure in additional states and maintain good standing with all licensed states.
- Ensure adherence to USP , , and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
- Registered Pharmacist in good standing in each state of practice, with a minimum of licensure in Florida.
- At least 5 years of relevant pharmacy experience preferred.
- Ability to assist a capable QA and Compliance team during inspections.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and handle hazardous materials.
- Hands-on experience with non-sterile compounding is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with all stakeholders.
- Proficient in mathematical operations for dosage calculations and data analysis.
- Adept at problem-solving, data collection, and analysis.
- Familiarity with computer systems, including patient documentation software.
- Creative and innovative mindset is a plus.
