Clinical Pharmacist Role at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals with precision and attention to detail
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens to optimize patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with medical staff to suggest cost-effective therapeutic medication alternatives
  • Support the hospital formulary and rational drug therapy selection
  • Provide timely and accurate medication information to healthcare teams
  • Assist with clinical services and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians
  • Maintain professional competency to meet current and future needs of the facility
  • Provide basic technical support for automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy computer systems
  • Effectively supervise pharmacy operation activities and support the pharmacy team
  • Comply with facility pharmacy schedule to work physically at patient care areas
  • Follow up with medical staff on issues regarding drug therapy
  • Participate in disaster team drills and real-event response as assigned
  • Obtain and maintain BLS-ACLS or PALS current certification as appropriate
  • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement
  • Maintain appropriate controlled substance records
  • Comply with all regulatory standards
  • Prioritize work to comply with facility medication turn-around time policy and procedure
  • Supervise and assist pharmacy technicians and other support staff
  • Act as supervisor in charge as assigned
  • Participate in the continuous quality review of order sets and/or computer drug entries
  • Participate in the continuous quality improvement of pharmacy operations
Qualifications:
  • Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida
  • B.S. or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • 2 years pharmacy experience preferred
