Nursing Assistant Instructor Position

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant Instructor to join our team at the Center for Caregiver Advancement. As a key member of our training program, you will be responsible for teaching adult learners in a variety of topics relevant to the long-term care industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans based on approved theory and clinical modules.
- Teach and instruct students in a clinical setting, ensuring they meet the required hours of training.
- Monitor student attendance and progress, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with NATP staff to resolve issues affecting student training and retention.
- Conduct weekly retention calls, texts, or emails to ensure student participation.
- Develop and implement make-up opportunities and assignments for students who miss classes or assignments.
- Valid nursing license (RN or LVN).
- 2 years nursing experience (RN or LVN).
- 1-year verifiable experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care hospice care, or other long-term care setting.
- Bachelor's degree in education or health-related fields, preferred.
- Verifiable completion of a course in teaching adults or completion of a course approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) that meets the requirements found in 16 CCR §§1450 et seq., or by an accredited educational institution.
- 2 years verifiable experience teaching adults and 1 year supervising nurse aides.
- Must provide a copy of the resume and evidence of a current license.
- Must be able to be approved by the California's Dept. of Public Health as a Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) instructor.
This is a part-time, temporary position with a salary range of $30-$40 per hour. The schedule will include evenings and weekends, with occasional travel to the Los Angeles area for in-person meetings.
