Job Title: Applied and Group Percussion InstructorColburn School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced percussion instructor to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching group and individual percussion classes to students of various skill levels.
Responsibilities:- Teach percussion students at elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels.
- Recruit new students and foster relationships with the community.
- Work with Community School staff to understand the financial aid and scholarship process.
- Encourage student participation in Colburn ensembles.
- Select appropriate repertoire for students.
- Hold parent meetings and conferences to address student issues.
- Provide counseling related to students' musical development.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with students' attendance and performance records.
- Work closely with Community School staff to support students' musical growth.
- Assist students with recording sessions for auditions and competitions.
- Participate in various activities such as faculty recitals, departmental auditions, and workshops.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in music.
- Prior experience teaching percussion students in group and individual settings.
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized.
The base pay rate for this position is $55-70 per hour for each one-hour master class or group class, or each 45-60 minute coaching session, which includes any related preparation or administrative duties.
