Job Summary:

The Operations Team Lead is a key member of the Belk team, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of all back of house functions in the store. This includes leading the operational process, managing inventory control, and maintaining a safe and clean shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational process, including receiving, processing, and stocking merchandise
  • Manage inventory control, including accepting truck manifests, processing returns to vendor, and maintaining accurate inventory levels
  • Maintain a safe and clean shopping environment, including housekeeping and maintenance tasks
  • Develop and work from a daily prioritized workload plan to ensure efficient operations
  • Process transfers, returns to vendors, damages, and mark out of stock merchandise in partnership with Asset Protection
  • Lead the maintenance tasks, including light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, and replacing sales floor and maintenance supplies
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the sales floor and receiving area following processing on truck days
  • Housekeeping includes being responsible for the cleanliness of the facility, specifically the restrooms, associate lounge, and office areas
  • Maintain a safe shopping and working environment
  • Support the Omni functions in the store, including picking, packing, and shipping customer orders
  • Open and close the store, including weekends
  • Approve select point of sale transactions, such as returns and voids
  • Resolve customer service issues as needed
  • Understand and be able to use all building operating systems

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Read and speak English
  • Ability to read and adhere to all policy and procedure manuals
  • Retail operations experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift between 10 lbs to 72 lbs at floor level and/or team lift when necessary
  • Ability to push or pull 100 lbs to 500 lbs carts to sales floor
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to push/pull receiving equipment weighing up to 500 lbs, such as rolling flats, z-racks, and pallet jacks
