Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:
Marshall Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide effective treatment and clinical activities in the provision of physical therapy.

Responsibilities:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a Physical Therapist Assistant program with a minimum of an Associate's degree and successful completion of clinical internship requirements.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Board of Medical Examiners, State of California required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of professional experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of physical therapy procedures and techniques required for providing routine Inpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Outpatient physical therapy treatments.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures.
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions accurately.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and fellow employees.
  • Ability to assume responsibility for updating skills as required by hospital policy.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods, stoop and mechanically operate wheelchair accessories repetitively throughout the day and position/transfer dependent patients in and out of bed without assistance.

Requirements:

  • A current CA Driver's License.
  • A clean DMV printout.
  • Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires employees to drive at least once per pay period.
