About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead our efforts in process optimization and lean operations at Federal Signal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across all aspects of our production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lean Manufacturing Leadership: Lead and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to drive efficiency and quality improvements across the production process.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for optimization and implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
  • Plant Layout and Design: Optimize plant layout and floor space utilization to improve workflow efficiency, material flow, and production capacity.
  • Capital Investment Projects: Manage the justification, execution, and commissioning of new capital investment projects aimed at expanding capacity, upgrading equipment, and improving manufacturing capabilities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers to drive individual and team performance, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and project plans, and generate regular reports on key performance indicators, project status, and financial metrics.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on lean manufacturing, process optimization, and project management.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools, excellent leadership and team management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
