Clinical Laboratory Technician II

The Clinical Laboratory Technician II plays a vital role in the clinical laboratory, performing duties that require a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. Under the supervision of a licensed or unlicensed CLS, MLT, or section manager, this position functions as an unlicensed or licensed staff member in a licensed clinical laboratory, performing tasks approved by California business code 1269, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for laboratory procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Prepare and manage reagents and supplies, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform procedures and QC functions approved by regulatory agencies, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Provide exceptional client service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow and efficient operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1+ years of experience working in a large laboratory or academic institution.
- 3+ years of experience in technical phlebotomy, if blood collection is required for lab section.
- Experience in medical terminology sufficient to understand and discuss technical aspects of pathology and laboratory medicine.
Processing experience is preferred, but not required.

A high school graduate or equivalent is required. A valid California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Certificate is also required when duties include phlebotomy. An AA degree is preferred.
Compensation and BenefitsChildren's Hospital Los Angeles offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $46,800.00-$80,850.00, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a robust benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
