Job Title:
RN - Recovery and Pre-Op Registered Nurse PRN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Recovery and Pre-Op department. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing same-day surgery.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the provision of nursing care to patients in a same-day surgery setting
• Monitor and control the use of supplies, ensuring patient safety and infection control efforts
• Develop and implement total nursing care plans for pre-operative and post-operative patients
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Provide high-quality customer service and education to patients and families
• Maintain patient and employee confidentiality and adhere to facility policies
• Perform routine stocking of medications and supplies, and maintain cleanliness in the work environment
• Start IVs and assist in the orientation of new employees

Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Registered Nurse License
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to work independently in emergency situations and make logical, quick decisions based on sound judgment
• Ability to maintain competence through continuing education and meet requirements for CEU re-licensure

• Dedicated and motivated individual with a strong commitment to patient care and safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Working Conditions:
• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
• May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and other hazardous materials
