Sterile Processing Technician Job Description

At St. Charles Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and assemble case carts for surgeries
  • Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and supplies
  • Operate various sterilization equipment
  • Restock department inventory and ensure instruments are stored properly
  • Clean and maintain department equipment
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification within 18 months of hire
  • Experience in sterile processing, healthcare materials management, or operating room preferred
Working Conditions:

This is a second shift position, working 40 hours per week. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in a fast-paced environment.
