Job Overview

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of hourly employees engaged in the operation of various machines to produce components or products. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating work orders to estimate labor hours and create machining schedules that align with both internal and external requirements.
  • Ensuring adherence to product quality specifications.
  • Collaborating with other departments to meet customer delivery timelines.
  • Conducting inspections and measurements of parts and products to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Utilizing appropriate resources to adjust machinery and equipment for products that do not meet quality standards.
  • Modifying work procedures to align with production schedules.
  • Proposing and implementing strategies to enhance production processes, equipment efficiency, and product quality for ongoing improvement.
  • Recommending adjustments in working conditions and equipment usage to boost operational efficiency.
  • Identifying and resolving work-related issues or assisting employees in problem-solving.
  • Enforcing safety regulations and policies to ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Maintaining accurate records of time and production, including estimating, requisitioning, and inspecting materials.
  • Fostering employee development through training, coaching, and performance assessments.
  • Understanding and implementing all aspects of the 6S methodology.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and performance management for employees during regular and overtime shifts.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing supervision.
  • Experience with mechanical power presses is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in production scheduling.
  • Familiarity with inventory auditing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Demonstrated experience in production improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
