The State of Rhode Island is seeking a skilled Capacity Building Specialist for Health Systems to join our team. This role will focus on assessing the capacity of the Rhode Island healthcare sector to serve newcomer populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a tool to assess the capacity of healthcare providers to treat newcomers, utilizing research of comparable approaches, consultation with the Rhode Island Department of Health, and interviews with expert providers.
- Research and select a digital database platform to collect data and information from healthcare providers and analyze that data.
- Use the tool to assess as many healthcare providers as possible through July 2025.
- Meet regularly with Department of Human Services staff to report progress and plan action steps.
- Draft a document identifying strengths and gaps in the healthcare landscape in Rhode Island.
Requirements
- Graduate-level studies in a community healthcare field.
- Knowledge of healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations.
- Knowledge of the needs of migrating populations.
- Research experience.
- Experience using research databases.
- Ability to work with Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Work Environment
This is a remote position, requiring the ability to meet in person with Department of Human Services staff and other stakeholders as needed.
