This is a full-time on-site position for a Logistics Import Coordinator. The individual will oversee the approval of containerized shipments from international suppliers and manage the prioritization of inbound containers from various ports to domestic distribution points.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with freight forwarders and brokers regarding container movements.
  • Manage scheduling for drayage and track container status.
  • Handle port entry documentation and approve invoices.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and accounting departments as necessary.

This role is set in a dynamic office environment that requires exceptional email communication and meticulous record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

  • A strong desire to thrive in a fast-paced logistics and supply chain setting.
  • Excellent communication abilities, particularly in email correspondence and document management.
  • Familiarity with terminology related to international logistics and drayage.
  • Ability to navigate various service provider web portals and cross-reference records effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in maintaining shipment files and commercial documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word, with a solid understanding of Excel functions.
  • Experience with international shipping processes and customs documentation is advantageous.
  • Collaborative mindset to work across multiple departments.

Additional Skills

  • Basic knowledge of customs regulations and HTSUS codes is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with USDA/APHIS regulations is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience in the pet supply industry is advantageous.
