Job Overview

Position Summary: The individual in this role will be tasked with delivering art education to students within a specialized educational setting. Reporting to the Director of Education or the Principal, the instructor will have significant autonomy over the classroom curriculum, subject to the Principal's endorsement. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an art education curriculum that aligns with state standards.
  • Manage the procurement, utilization, and storage of art supplies and equipment.
  • Evaluate each student's artistic strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Foster students' interests, talents, and skills in artistic expression and creativity.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly progress assessments for students.
  • Provide ongoing feedback on student progress as required.
  • Organize and maintain substitute teaching materials.
  • Complete necessary training and, when required, perform physical interventions with clients.
  • Adhere to all agency training requirements.
  • Uphold professional boundaries with students and families, in accordance with the agency's ethical guidelines.
  • Stay informed about agency policies and procedures.
  • Promote inclusivity by recognizing and addressing biases, treating others with respect, and valuing diverse experiences.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students by reporting potential hazards.
