Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Business Resources One. This role will be responsible for providing project management assistance, estimating, and administrative support to our project managers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, estimating, and project management, with excellent communication and organizational skills. They will be able to analyze plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare material lists, review and detail revisions to project plans and specifications, and process, document, and manage communication for revisions, change orders, addendums, and new plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project management assistance to project managers
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare material lists
  • Review and detail revisions to project plans and specifications
  • Process, document, and manage communication for revisions, change orders, addendums, and new plans
  • Track plan revisions and RFQs, and follow up on subcontractor pricing as required
  • Administer and file communications with general contractors and architects
  • Send plans and specifications to subcontractors as required
  • Process, send out, and track quote requests for site furnishings, subcontractors, plant materials
  • Assist in communication of project information to field superintendents as required
  • Review and be familiar with contracts, plans, and scope of work on assigned projects
  • Maintain RFI and Change Order Logs
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to ensure plant materials, site furnishings, and long lead time or specialty items are ordered and delivered in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and track communication with subcontractors
  • Assist in management of subcontracts, change orders, RFI's, billings, revisions, close-outs, and warranty letters from subcontractors
  • Assist with the Submittal process: compile, document, submit, follow up, and update log
  • Coordinate site furnishing submittals, procurement, and delivery with purchasing and field
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to manage long lead items
  • Manage close-out coordination: as-builts, warranty letters, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in construction, administration, business, or equivalent in experience
  • Five years' experience in construction, estimating, and/or landscape construction
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, OST, or similar Take-Off software and other applicable software as required
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects independently and simultaneously
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and customer service-focused
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have excellent phone and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and assume responsibility to carry out all assignments in a proficient and professional manner
  • Ability to handle unexpected projects and demonstrate willingness to help others
  • General plant, irrigation, construction, and drainage knowledge
  • General knowledge of materials
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
