Role Summary:

The Capital Equipment Operations Project Leader will spearhead the development of manufacturing strategies for Disk, Blade, and Airfoil components, focusing on enhancing yield and ensuring robust process control across all operational facets.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team comprising Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Operations, Environmental Health & Safety, IT, and Facilities to formulate sustainable capital investment strategies.
  • Oversee procurement initiatives, including feasibility assessments, alternative evaluations, economic lifecycle cost analyses, and the preparation of RFP/RFQ packages. Drive innovations in manufacturing to optimize costs, delivery timelines, and quality standards for aerospace airfoils.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute projects aligned with our growth objectives, supporting the next generation of aerospace propulsion systems. Manage projects from initial concept through procurement, installation, and implementation phases, acting as the site lead for growth initiatives.
  • Assist in the multi-year capital planning and programming efforts; champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and exceed customer expectations while maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Willingness to travel periodically (less than 10%).
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or project management; or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in contractor management, including scope drafting, pre-bid meetings, supplier selection, and value management, along with familiarity in machine tool selection and procurement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory for access to program-related information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of both traditional and advanced machining techniques (e.g., broaching, grinding, multi-axis milling) for airfoil production, as well as various manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with media finishing processes such as tumble polishing, blasting, peening, and chemical processing.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, robotic automation, and other automated machinery programming is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
