Senior Bioanalysis Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Director to lead our fast-growing bioanalysis platform at WuXi AppTec. The successful candidate will lead a team to achieve long-term research and business goals in a CRO setting, independently designing, executing, troubleshooting, and delivering projects with LCMS, including small molecules and biologics, as well as lipidomics, glycomics, and proteomics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall scientific and operational support for the bioanalysis group.
  • Contribute expertise and knowledge to collaborations with partners in the design and execution of related studies.
  • Work with business management and development teams for sponsor engagement and project proposal preparation.
  • Lead multiple ongoing projects to meet expected timelines.
  • Implement new capabilities and build the team.
  • Contribute to the overall operations and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Communicate with clients for designing, analysis, reporting, and recording activities.
  • Perform job-specific tasks in compliance with applicable regulations, international standards, WuXi AppTec policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform hands-on bench work when necessary.

Requirements:

  • PhD with 5+ years of experience in proteomics, mass spectrometry, and/or related fields.
  • Industry experience from CRO, biotech, and pharmaceutical is a plus; strong scientific knowledge and technical skills in the bioanalytic field are desired.
  • Expert-level skills in LCMS workflows, sample preparation techniques, and associated instrumentation.
  • Experience with MaxQuant, Skyline, and Tracefinder, Protein Pilot, and Proteome Discoverer.
  • Ability to maintain UPLC/Mass spec for routine operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior in vitro assays and in vivo pharmacology experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
  • Ability to work in a lab setting with exposure to animals, biohazards, and chemicals.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs routinely.
  • Ability to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/often/occasionally.
  • Clarity of vision.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to perform activities with repetitive motions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
  • Ability to work in variable temperatures, high to freezing.
  • Inside/outside working conditions.

Compensation:

Anticipated base pay range: $121,924 to $170,462.
