Job Overview

The Culinary Instructor will be responsible for delivering hands-on culinary training to students, adhering to HTA's curriculum and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and deliver engaging culinary lessons, incorporating hands-on training and interactive discussions.
  2. Collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage Training to develop curriculum and teaching materials.
  3. Provide feedback and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Assist in the development of culinary programs, ensuring alignment with HTA's objectives and industry standards.
  5. Represent HTA in the community, fostering relationships with industry partners and promoting the academy's mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Chef in a fine dining environment.
  • Ability to teach in a bilingual setting (English and Spanish).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to commute to HTA Headquarters and industry partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a culinary instructor or educator.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation codes.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
