Job Overview

SAGS ENGINEERING is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Design Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for substation projects.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience and knowledge. Year-end bonuses are possible based on individual performance and company success. MUST BE A US CITIZEN to apply.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement electrical design plans for substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify project requirements and develop design solutions.
  3. Analyze and interpret data to inform design decisions and ensure accuracy.
  4. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure project understanding and expectations are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design and development, preferably in the power utility sector.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Proficiency in standard 3-phase calculations, spatial awareness, and geometry.
  • Familiarity with NESC, NEC, and IEEE standards, as well as construction principles.
  • Ability to read and understand steel assembly drawings, conduit and trenching specifications, and conductor and pipe bus applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Punctuality and reliability, with ability to accurately track time and meet deadlines.

We can train the right candidate for this role, but the pay will be commensurate with their perceived knowledge and experience.
