Job Summary

LinQuest is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer/COMSEC Custodian to join our team at Hill AFB, UT. This role requires an active Secret clearance and a strong background in network engineering and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and install various network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Perform professional technical work that requires in-depth knowledge and diversified application of network engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques.
  • Ensure execution of network engineering processes across the lifecycle, and report on project status and progress measured against specific plans.
  • Research emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external resources necessary to successfully complete assignments or projects.
  • Proactively manage and prioritize multiple related projects, assignments, timelines, milestones, and follow-up communications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets, including end-user support via phone, email, and remote control.
  • Utilize DISA STIG checklists to assess and document compliance.
Requirements
  • HS diploma and 11+ years of related experience, OR BS/BA and 7+ years of related experience, OR MA/MS with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Related experience should be in network engineering, design, configuration, maintenance, patching, and upgrades.
  • The applicant must meet DoD M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date.
  • This position requires an active Top Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must also be able to maintain their security clearance for the position.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
