Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of our facilities, equipment, or fixtures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures as needed.
  • Observe and document signs of wear and tear, gather capital expense information, and recommend repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
  • Determine replacement needs and document preventive maintenance activities.
  • Perform major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment.
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues, dismantle equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts, and diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment, provide prompt response to emergency calls, and document repair activities.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information, conducting price comparison of parts and travel-related costs, ordering parts and replacement equipment, and tracking orders.
  • Record purchases and usage, submit warranty claims, comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines, and ensure quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements, identify and report deficiencies, unload and store equipment, and transport equipment between facilities.
Requirements
  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License and Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
