Job Summary:

As an LPN Anesthesia Technician, you will assist licensed anesthesia providers in the preparation and application of equipment and supplies required for anesthesia administration. This role involves working under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider or RN, performing tasks such as intra-operative fluid management, inspection and maintenance of anesthesia gas delivery systems, and cleaning and sterilizing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of anesthesia delivery systems, monitors, and ancillary devices, as well as a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology as it applies to anesthesia care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed anesthesia providers with equipment setup and preparation
  • Perform intra-operative fluid management and assist with auto transfusion equipment
  • Inspect and maintain anesthesia gas delivery systems
  • Clean, sterilize, and stock anesthesia equipment and supplies
  • Oversee the maintenance of routine anesthesia equipment and supplies

Requirements:
  • Active LPN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • High School diploma or GED and a graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Two years of anesthesia technician experience or LPN experience preferred

Work Environment:
  • Days
  • No on-call shifts
  • Rotating weekends
  • No travel required
  • Johnston Memorial Hospital location
