Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, work independently, and provide technical support to staff and students.
  • Prepare and maintain records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
  • Facilitate clinical problem-solving, provide education on managing patients after procedures, and collaborate with other departments to improve imaging department processes.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
