Role Summary: The Rehabilitation Therapist is responsible for implementing a medically directed physical therapy regimen. This role primarily focuses on evaluating, treating, and educating an adult and geriatric patient demographic, particularly those recovering from traumatic injuries, cardiac issues, joint replacements, post-surgical recovery, pain management, and chronic disease management. The goal is to assist patients in achieving their highest potential and reintegrating into their communities while adapting to their individual capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver direct patient care services to enhance the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.
2. Exhibit proficiency in physical therapy techniques and equipment to ensure patient safety and maximize therapeutic benefits.
3. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and efficient service delivery.
5. Engage in additional responsibilities to enhance the overall function of the department as both a treatment center and a learning environment.
6. Foster a safe and productive work atmosphere by adhering to established hospital and departmental protocols.
7. Uphold patient relations by demonstrating respect and dignity towards all patients, their families, visitors, and staff.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a B.S., M.S., or DPT degree is required.
Licensure Requirements:
Possession of an active New York State License or eligibility for a temporary permit.
Work Environment:
Part-Time position with standard hours of 20.00. The schedule includes day shifts, requiring three shifts per week, with two weekend days each month.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $65.01.
Physical Demands:
Essential physical requirements include significant manual dexterity, potential exposure to various occupational hazards, and the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
