Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at MidHudson Regional Home Health. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and recovery of our patients, providing expert care and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical conditions and develop personalized therapy plans to address their needs.
  • Conduct physical assessments, take patient histories, and observe patient responses to therapy to adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Utilize a range of techniques, including muscle re-education, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular facilitation, to promote patient mobility and independence.
  • Administer hot and cold packs, contrast baths, ultrasound, and electro diagnostics as appropriate, in accordance with NYS guidelines.
  • Provide education and training to patients on the safe use and care of durable medical equipment, including canes, crutches, walkers, braces, and prostheses.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and statistics, and participate in the on-the-job clinical training of physical therapy students as needed.
  • Serve as a resource for other healthcare staff, family members, and referring physicians or agency staff.
Requirements
  • Master's degree/Doctorate from an accredited university in Physical Therapy.
  • 1-2 years' experience in acute care and/or rehabilitation, or willingness to train a new graduate.
  • Limited permit to practice physical therapy issued by the New York State Education Department, or license and current registration as a Physical Therapist.
  • Thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, neurology, neurophysiology, electrotherapy, and physics.
  • Ability to prepare reports, keep accurate patient records, and set up and carry out rehabilitation programs based on diagnosis.
  • Ability to relate to physicians, co-workers, patients, and their families, and other community personnel.
