We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tankerman to join our team at Centerline Logistics Corporation. As a Tankerman, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of petroleum products between barges, ships, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor product levels in tanks and operate diesel engines, cargo pumps, and tank/pipeline valves.
- Communicate with foreign crews and oil facility personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Adjust and secure barge lines to prevent accidents and ensure safe transfer of products.
- Complete loading and discharge gauge reports and inspect vessels for regulatory compliance.
- Operate air monitoring equipment, hearing protection, and other safety gear to ensure a safe working environment.
- Five (5) years of previous experience as a Tankerman PIC on oil barges required.
- Possess a valid Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Document with PIC and AB endorsements.
- Knowledge of Coast Guard and state requirements for transfer operations.
- Experience with ballast water treatment and valid first aid/CPR certificate.
- Valid TWIC and state driver license.
- Ability to complete accurate paperwork and possess good communication skills.
Exposure to all weather conditions, including rain, ice, snow, heat, wind, and heavy seas. Must be able to work at heights and perform physical tasks such as maneuvering cargo hoses and handling barge lines.
