We are seeking a highly skilled Tankerman to join our team at Centerline Logistics Corporation. As a Tankerman, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of petroleum products between barges, ships, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor product level in tanks and operate diesel engines, cargo pumps, and tank/pipeline valves.
- Communicate with foreign crews and oil facility personnel.
- Adjust and secure barge lines.
- Complete loading and discharge gauge reports and inspect vessels for regulatory compliance.
- Operate air purifying respirators, SCBA, and other safety equipment.
- Perform general barge maintenance and cleanliness.
- Hydrostatic testing of cargo hoses and piping.
- Change engine oil and filters.
- Splice barge lines and boom running gear.
- Five (5) years previous experience as a Tankerman PIC on oil barges required.
- Possess a valid Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Document with PIC and AB endorsements.
- Knowledge of Coast Guard and state requirements for transfer operations.
- Experience with ballast water treatment.
- Valid first aid/CPR certificate.
- Valid TWIC.
- Valid state driver license.
- Complete HAZWOPER training within 30 days of hire.
Exposure to all weather conditions (rain, ice, snow, heat, wind, heavy seas, etc.). Must not be afraid of heights. Shared responsibility for galley chores, services, and meals along with all crew members aboard.
Expected Hours of WorkThis job requires a 21-day equal rotation. Ability to adapt to a variety of schedules and hours. Able to work weekends, holidays, and at night. Willing to take call outs.
